Travel Vouchers

Last year my wife and I volunteered to bump off of a flight from Hawaii to Phoenix. We were given travel vouchers to use on a future flight. Unless you want to play games with the airlines, I urge anyone that is thinking about volunteering their seat NOT TO DO IT. If you do, expect the following at least from Hawaiian Airlines, pay in advance for a ticket, send the travel voucher registered mail to their corporate headquarters at least 48 hours before your flight, wait another three weeks before your credit card is credited, and expect to spend at least 35 minutes on hold each time you call Hawaiian.

Cut it out! The airlines never cease to amaze me.

Well, lucky you, Antman.

Whenever I fly Hawaiian, I always seem to get the short end of the stick. I totally believe the above guy's story.

This time, for example, my boyfriend and I were planning a Christmas trip to Hawaii(where he's from) to visit family. I wasn't able to afford the ticket, so I told him to go alone. Long story short, he ended up purchasing the ticket for me as a Christmas gift(at least a $900 ticket, btw). Thing is, when he purchased online, he accidentally input February 3rd instead of January 3rd as the return date. After waiting on the phone on hold for at least 30 minutes, they said that they were going to charge him $150 a pop for each ticket to change the return date! When he asked how the $150 fee could be waived, they suggested that he write a letter of complaint for them to review, and in the meantime, purchase ANOTHER set of tickets with the correct return date while they CONSIDER giving him back his refund! Apparently the process takes them a month to decide.

Now why in the heck would someone spend $1800 PER PERSON for a one-time mistake that happened, with no guarantee that there was going to be a waiving of fees?

Besides, aren't we all human? Are errors not tolerated at all, especially when someone is shelling out $900 for a plane ticket? Besides, my boyfriend has been flying with them for many years, he has been a regular customer.

I swear my patience with Hawaiian Airlines have been tested every year I've flown with them. But this really just kicks it where it already hurts. Christmas is ruined, and we are basically out $1800.

Don't blame Hawaiian! You two are IDIOTS!
