Failed to pay for 320 inkjet cartridges. $1,000
Those familiar with the empty inkjet recycling industry are aware it is filled with scumbags and liars, who will do and say anything to get individuals to part company with empty inkjet cartridges - which these scumbags promise to pay for and then don't. Harvey Keyes is one of these individuals.
Harvey, former operator of EMPTIES USA, actually ran a honest operation for a few years before his house of cards started to tumble in late 2006. Despite the fact he KNEW he was never going to pay for inkjet cartridges he solicited from sellers (late 2006 to spring 2007) it did not prevent him from screwing those he did business with for years. His last known address, which he used as dead end drop for merchandise he intended to steal was a UPS Store location: 22287 Mulholland Hwy, Box 200 Calabasas, CA. EMPTIESUSA@AOL.com was one of his addresses. The phones (business and cell) which he used previously have been disconnected. This was his cell number before he went underground - 818/917/1842. His brother (Barry) is also involved in the industry. Coastal Recyling Group. I spoke with Barry in August but he would not volunteer any information on how to contact his brother. What a surprise huh. This clown had his name mentioned at the Coastal website in early 2007, along with contact phone numbers, but a few months later ALL names (and phone numbers) were removed from the site.

After sending Harvey Keyes the link to this lodge-a-complaint page he fabricated more lies in a futile attempting to justify his failure to pay. He decided to claim most of the inkjets he received from me were defective, meaning they didn't pass the electronic circuit test so they could not be refilled. That is THE most common scam in the industry. He did not respond to any of the following questions, particularly the one about his failure to send me an inspection report within a few weeks of receiving (stealing) my inkjets in May of 2007.

I have ALL of the emails you sent previously, which do not support these recent claims about defective units. You put yourself in this quicksand, and your preposterous lies do not serve any purpose, except to prove the validity of the facts regarding your intentions to steal the inkjets you picked up from the UPS Store on May 12, 2007.
1) YOU failed to issue an inspection report five months ago and now resort to one of the most common cons utilized by those in your industry - lies about high percentage of defects.
2) YOU previously accepted the amount we agreed upon as a negotiated settlement - $688.
3) YOU previously indicated that amount would be paid no later than July 31.
4) YOU then indicated an intention to use partial payments after failing to honor your promise to settle the matter by July 31. Good intentions and empty promises are not a substitute for legal tender
5) YOU previously indicated I am not the only supplier you owe. How many are on the scam list?
6) YOU started this liars circus 9 months ago when I asked you what happened to the EMPTIES USA website before the cartridges were shipped. That conversation took place the afternoon I telephoned you on your cell phone, when you claimed to be in your car heading south. You acted casual and indifferent, as if unaware the site was down. Why did you find it necessary to lie Harvey?
7) YOU purchased over $3,000 of empties (35 transactions) on eBay (May, June, July) after receiving my units (which you failed to pay for) at prices greater than the value you would soon be offering your victims. You apparently had sufficient funds to keep on buying while ignoring debts. You wouldn't have been buying those units if they couldn't be sold at a profit.
8) YOU continued to purchase units on eBay (without the benefit of testing them) and now spew BS about my units being defective, despite the fact you never issued an inspection report AND never complained about my units before - which you started purchasing in 2005. We both realize you are grasping at straws now, since you undoubtely liquidated my cartridges quickly, to keep your sinking boat floating for another day or two.
9) YOU no longer maintain any of the phone numbers used to communicate prior to the meltdown. What happened to Gabriel at the Main St address, did he get picked up by the border patrol? I spoke with him at that location. He provided me with an overview of your house of cards.
Harvey is like a feeble minded conman who eats a 6 course meal at a restaurant and then looks for an excuse not to pay, as he sits there belching and cleaning his decayed teeth with a toothpick while asking for coffee refills.
