Can We Please Speak English In The U.S.

We had a suite at the Radison Hotel for 3 nights. Not a single person from their housekeeping department could speak a word of English. This totally pisses me off. I mean, how the heck were we supposed to communicate with them when they had no clue what we were saying?????

I have no problem with people coming to the United States but their should be a law that says IF you stay here and IF you work here that you MUST speak English.

I am so sick of going to stores and seeing Spanish labels too. Or calling my phone company, electric company, etc and getting a computerized voice that says "Press 1 for English, Press 2 for Spanish." I am not Spanish, I am an American. Why do I need this option???

People coming into our country should be conforming and learning our ways and language NOT the other way around.

I was at a 1st Cav., C Co., 1st Bn. 5th Cav. reunion in Arlington, VA. We faught in Vietnam. The language barrier was greater at the hotel than it was in Vietnam. Furthermore, I know for sure that I made reservations from 6/29/07 until 7/05/07. However, when I woke up at 10:00 am on 07/04/07 there was a bill that had been shoved under the door stating that the check out date was 07/04/07. In my haste I left two bags of clothing there. When I called to report my loss, they wanted to send tea bags, two bags of my dirty laundry, up to room 606 which I had previosly occupied. I am just a poor grunt, infantry. I will probably not see my clothes again - at least send me tea bags. Dave Thomas.
